Garden Party 22

Tonight we went to Garden Party 22. I volunteered for drink ticket sells. Over 1,200 people came out to Pier 54 for the LGBT Yearly Fundraiser. It such a great cross section of the community- women and men, old and young, butch and femme, black and white, over the top and quite conservative. The weather was incredible. I need a night to recover, but tomorrow is David Letterman. Oh my!!

Broadway Bares

This is shaping up to be a busy week. Tonight we went to “Broadway Bares” a fundraiser for Broadway Cares. It was a burlesque show of sorts with stars from Broadway and incredible dance numbers. Bruce Vilanch, Tim Curry, Christina Applegate, David Hyde Pierce, Jai Rodriguez and Dr. Ruth Westheimer we special guest. The numbers were incredible choreographed and there was quite a bit of skin, oh my. The event raised over $600,000 to fight HIV and AIDS. There’s still no cure, we have to keep fighting. Altar Boyz

Save your money, music and story are weak. Coolest part was discovering the theatre that actually houses 3-4 more contemporary theatre spaces.

Duvet & the Wallflowers

Tonight we went to the opening of Duvet an ultra contemporary space with beds to lounge on. You can even have dinner here, to tell you the truth the idea is not the appealing to me. We only stayed for a short while. We banked that the W Hotel summer party would be much better and it was. The wall flowers performed, the food was excellent and their drinks were yummy. W definatley knows how to put on a good party.

Fire Island

So the weatherman said it was going to rain all weekend for the Memorial Day holiday. We invited a couple of friends from Atlanta up to venture out to Block Island. We had our rain plan for things to do in the city, but we ended up not needing it. The weather was beautiful sunny skies, so we went out to Fire Island and stayed in Sailor Haven. It was a short walk to the beaches and to Cherry Grove for shopping and restaurants. We spent our time relaxing and just taking it easy in this great sleepy summer getaway. I can't wait to go back.

Chelsea Pier Party

Chelsea Pier opened a new space tonight a great little open air patio that looked over the Hudson. The weather was perfect, the wine quite good and they served mashed potatoes in martini glasses for you to add your own toppings (they know the way to my heart). I won free passes to the rock climbing wall which I saw last week on Urban Fitness. I can't wait to go.

I love my mom

I made a surprise visit to Midville for Mother's Day and enjoyed visiting with the family. It's rather nice to get away to the country sometimes.

A call from the President

Tonight was our big client event. CEO & CFO's of our top clients come to dine at the UN and hear Gen. Colin Powell speak. I was at the front gate to check people in and later joined the team for an incredible fun dinner in a smaller dining room before hearing a little of Gen. Powell speech (definitely more geared for conservative business leader set). The best part was early in the evening when he came out into the hallway with his cell phone and said "Yes Mr. President". All of our ears perked up.
